Electronic Shelf Labeling in a Shopping Mall

At the beginning of 2016, Hansab’s long-term customer Selver wanted to test electronic shelf labels as another innovative solution. To test the functionality, reliability and profitability of the system, Pricer electronic shelf labels were installed to the fruit and vegetable section of Peetri Selver.
About 300 labels were placed to the department, in different formats and different mounting solutions. In the fruit and vegetable section, the efficiency factor of electronic labels shows the most as there are very many price changes and in case of traditional paper labels, also much more physical labour is needed.
One of the strengths of the Pricer system is the possibility to implement these changes very easily through smart device. The EAN code of the product is scanned with special device, the device presents the product sheet of the product and all necessary changes (price, product class, country of origin etc) can be made there. All changes can be made near the shelf, no need to go to the back office and also no more need to print, cut, change papers.
The manager of Peetri Selver Anneli Felding said that by using electronic shelf labels they save valuable working time. "There is no need for a computer for creating or changing prices and the task can be done immediately. Also, no time is wasted on cutting, placing etc as it used to be with paper labels. The new labels are stationary and don’t need constant relocation and the overall picture of the sales area is more correct. The clients have also commented that our solutions are modern and innovative", she added.
