Estonian ID-card's high recognition on the Regional ID Documents and Banknotes of the Year awards

In March 2019 the Estonian ID-card received high recognition on the Regional ID Documents and Banknotes of the Year awards at a special ceremony in Malta. At the conference, the documents and the banknotes all over the world were recognised for being outstanding for the security details and the design.

Estonian ID card won the title of the best document in the ID card category. The expert committee recognised Estonian ID-card for the design of the card, the security features, the chip and new solutions, such as the possibility of tapping.
