As part of the Tallinn Library network, Pirita Library offers local residents flexible and convenient access to library services beyond regular opening hours. Hansab designed and implemented a comprehensive self-service solution that enables visitors to use the library independently.
The project included the installation of an integrated access control and security system, video surveillance, a public address system, and all the software and hardware required to support self-service operations. Registered library members can access the premises using their library card or ID card and enjoy the library’s services during unstaffed hours.
The access control system installed at the main entrance is integrated with the security system and automatically manages the building’s operating modes according to self-service and regular opening schedules. To ensure a safe environment, surveillance cameras have been installed throughout the library and at the exit. The premises are also equipped with a speaker system that delivers important announcements, including notifications marking the beginning and end of self-service hours.
Thanks to this fully integrated solution, Pirita Library is able to offer visitors a modern, secure, and flexible self-service library experience.
