Fire Alarm System at Tallinn Airport
16.07.2020
Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport is the largest airport in Estonia and is open to both domestic and international flights.
In 2018, Tallinn Airport announced a public tender for the replacement of the existing automatic Fire Alarm System at the passenger terminal. As the winner of the tender, Hansab AS designed and installed a new Fire Alarm System based on ESSER by Honeywell equipment. The works started at the end of 2018 and installation lasted through 2019, during the project approximately 1300 sensors were replaced, and 6 new control units were installed.
It was the first Fire Alarm System installation in Estonia, where central units are controlled by the mobile application ESSER Remote Access. In the event of an alarm, technical personnel can respond to the situation regardless of their physical location. In case of danger, the use of the application allows to quickly find the location of a possible fire and provide information to rescue officers. ESSER Remote Access application allows performing activities directly from the smart device without physically going to the central unit location. This is a major benefit in such a large territory. The application is convenient to use also for additional maintenance activities, such as turning off clocks and zones, accepting alarms, testing, etc.
The Fire Alarm Solution of Tallinn Airport has also nominated in "Recognized Security Solution 2019" competition, which is organized by the Estonian Security Association.
