Hansab to Acquire a Majority Stake in Finland's C2 SmartLight
Hansab Group, a leading provider of technology solutions in the Baltics, has acquired a majority stake in Finnish technology company C2 SmartLight, marking a significant step in Hansab's strategic expansion into the Nordic market.
C2 SmartLight, a pioneer in smart lighting, has operated successfully in Finland for over two decades. The technology company offers intelligent lighting control solutions for streets, sports areas, courtyards, parks and harbours.
The acquisition strengthens Hansab's product portfolio, particularly in smart light management, a growing field focused on optimizing energy consumption and reducing environmental impact. C2's solutions help cities manage public lighting efficiently, minimizing light pollution and supporting sustainability goals. Over two-thirds of the Finnish population live in areas where public lighting is managed using C2’s solutions.
Outdoor lighting is playing an increasingly important role in the green energy transition by combining sustainability, smart technology, and regulatory support. Modern lighting solutions use energy-efficient technologies and IoT systems that allow for real-time monitoring and remote control, helping to reduce energy waste and improve safety. When integrated with renewable energy sources and broader smart city infrastructure—like traffic management—these systems not only cut emissions but also contribute to building more sustainable and energy-independent communities.
