Balbiino is one of Estonia’s leading producers of ice cream and frozen food products, with constant movement taking place across its production premises. In such an environment, access control plays a vital role: it helps ensure workplace safety, protect company assets, and guide movement to authorized areas only.
The turnstile installed by Hansab is designed for outdoor use and operates reliably in temperatures from -20 °C to +50 °C. All electrical components are protected against moisture and dust, while additional heating and backup power ensure continuous operation even during cold weather or power outages. A motorized rotation mechanism provides smooth access, and an LED indicator clearly signals when entry is allowed.
A key feature of this solution is the wide side gate for bicycles, e-scooters, and small mopeds, ensuring convenience for employees arriving with alternative transport.
This setup supports three main objectives for a production environment:
- Controlled access: clear visibility of entries, with the option to enable anti-passback to prevent multiple people from entering with one card.
