A Safer Public Space: Security Bollards at Tapa Town Square

A new town square opened in Tapa in June 2026, creating a modern public space for leisure and events. The square is primarily intended for pedestrians. To keep vehicles out and ensure a safe environment for people, Hansab installed ATG Access security bollards along the edge of the square. The high-strength bollards are certified to ATG Access security standards and are designed to stop vehicles travelling at high speeds, reducing the risk of a vehicle entering a crowd in the event of an accident or deliberate act.
Both fixed and automatic bollards have been installed around the square. In addition to restricting vehicle access, the bollards help prevent parking along the edge of the square, keeping the area primarily for people. The three automatic bollards can be lowered when temporary vehicle access to the square is required.
The security bollards can be locked with a key and are equipped with a hydraulic mechanism that makes them easy to raise and lower. This provides a practical and user-friendly way to control vehicle access while keeping the square safe and accessible for pedestrians.
