Lithuania

Nowadays, more customers opt for cashless payments for convenience and hygiene reasons. At Lidl stores in Lithuania, we have installed Nayax all-in-one electronic payment terminals at the coffee vending machines.

Previously, customers could only pay by coins for their coffee. Now the electronic payment solution offers both contactless and contact payment options and accepts every dominant payment method on the market so that no potential consumer is turned away.

Background

According to Tomas Gutauskas, Head of Lidl’s Sales Organization Department, Lidl wanted to give their customers the opportunity to pay for hot drinks in cash and with a payment card or smart device. This decision was also influenced by the pandemic, with many customers wanting to reduce contact with cash as much as possible.

“This is a payment solution with universal application potential, suitable not only for coffee but also for vending machines for snacks and soft drinks, public laundries, public toilets, car washes, amusement parks, etc.,” says Julijus Rašytinis, Sales Project Manager at Hansab.

Advantages of the solution

According to T. Gutauskas, Nayax electronic payment terminal was a quick and simple solution that met the needs of Lidl customers to pay for hot drinks with a payment card. From the customer’s perspective, payment has become simpler, faster, and more secure.

Installing electronic payment terminals at Lidl coffee vending machines has resulted in higher customer satisfaction. Sales are also boosted because customers who don’t usually carry cash can now take advantage of the service.

Technical advantages  of the payment terminal

  • High-resolution color touch screen with anti-vandal protection.

  • The device captures all actions performed in real-time.

  • Easy installation in any vending machine or other self-service terminals. All software updates are done remotely.

  • The ability to use voice recordings in the local language and display two languages on the screen.

  • LTE and 4G connectivity secure the device, and operators can stay connected to the devices they serve.

We are happy to be able to offer innovative and universal solutions that help our clients develop their businesses more efficiently.
